Flywheel timing marks

Can anyone tell me why there are 2 timing marks on the 2.4 rwd mk7 flywheel 180 degrees apart?? How do i know witch one to drop the pin in ?? Any information would be appreciated thank-you

There's an allen bolt in the front of the crank. When timed right it will be at the ~10-11 o'clock position. You "may" need to go round another turn to get it in the correct place for pinning the cam sprockets though as they can be 180 out depending on whether it's on the compression stroke or not.

The cam sprocket timing pins will fit if the crank is in the right spot.

Unless you're changing the chain/tensioner etc...then it doesn't matter, you then time it up to suit.

I am changing the chain ect I've had the cams out to. I just 2
Wonna get it right the first time so I haven't gotta mess around. Could I nlt tell if its on the compression stroke by turning it over by hand an getting compression out of number 1 cylinder

If the cams are out it won't matter in regards the compression stroke...just time it up normally and you should be good to go.
