Contacted vantuner for some matters and gave me the following link.
At some point of the text, he explains the juddering ;)

So that's that then - I'm going to try a few more things like just run the EGR unplugged etc, maybe the driveshafts/clutch when the weather warms up. The EGR and MAF values go all over the place when it does it although they're both new. Literally everything I've tried hasn't made it any worse or any better, only the weather 'seems' so change how often it does it which does point me away from any mechanical issue - i remember last summer it did it on a trip away twice in 350miles, now its 350 times in 5 miles

I wouldn't bother. Seems it's software issue which cures when cruise control handles the speed, probably because it ignores some parts from fueling maps.
An ecu update from ford should work though, if any, but I think vantuner should have mentioned ;)

I did contemplate a update via Ford, but not having to use a garage in my 15 years of motoring (thanks to my father doing most of my work) I'm a bit reluctant (and clueless) to pay someone else to do it - are Ford happy enough to do this and at what cost?

We've found a lot of Ford garages are reluctant to work on older machines and can often be clueless, at least that's what it's like here in Aus.....sometimes your van will be younger than the pimply 12yo working on it. But they might surprise you.

I might give that a go, I just don't know how some electronics can affect the van as much as it does, it's quite violent, gearstick shaking in the dash a a thumping from what I guess is the gearbox mount thrashing around. It's not like it's a misfire, it's not fast enough to be one.

Hopefully getting the EGR mapped out, not sure if it's the way to go but will post back as soon as it's done!

Got the EGR mapped out today after having a few issues with it getting stuck open/closed and it's now back to square 1, just juddering at 40 in 4th, 50 in 5th, under light acceleration.

It seems more rev dependant than road speed dependant, might try a clutch in it as maybe the clutch springs are worn and it'll need doing one day anyway.

Discovered something today, if I hold the clutch down to the point where the pedal engages, the judder totally goes away.

Not far enough to make the clutch slip but just enough to release some pressure off it. God knows what's up with this thing

Managed to snap a rear spring, where's best to jack it up on the rear to get the spring out?

4 new injectors, remap, another EGR delete, NS driveshaft, fuel system checked for leaks and still bouncing around the road. There's a reason VW's are more expensive.

Ford garage haven't ever heard of the PCM update people talk of as that would have been my next guess.

I believe the last PCM update for the Euro-4's was in 2012, does your van have "anti-stall"..?? If so you've already got it.

If by antistall you mean the revs going up when the clutch is pressed then no, mine doesn't have it, what it does have though is in reverse it'll hold the revs a bit.

That's it, just had the clutch done as a final measure to solving the issue. Still judders, off to WeBuyAnyVan to see if they want it.

FIXED!

Although after having the clutch done it still juddered, I examined the old clutch and the centre of it would freely rotate about 45⁰ which then led me to realise that this was the root of the cause.

After driving it around for a few days after having the clutch done it slowly got better!

I did a reset of all learned parameters and re ran the injector learns etc and it's completely stopped juddering.

I have now sold it onto its new owner and am looking at a Mk8 Transit tomorrow evening (newer, comfier and fingers crossed more reliable!)
