So ive figured out that it is Infact a 110v PTO
As a 110v supply is of no use i was considering getting a step up to plug in and turn the 110v to 240v and use that to run power hungry things like a microwave when i turn this van into a camper

Better off getting rid of the extra weight it’s surprising haw heavy a camper conversion can get I have a 500w microwave run off a 1600 w Clark inverter had this setup for over 10 years with no problems apart from on the mk6 with a simple split change relay I ran the engine and the microwave and it burned out the relay due to to long a feed wire run to the inverter I now run it off two 110 amp batteries and find it quite adequate

Hi ye i am thinking of removing it all..
As much as i like the idea of having the pto as a sort of emergency power or to power other things the reality is the only thing i would power with it is a microwave and thats something i can work around..

So all that extra weight just to power a microwave once in a while isn't really worth it on top of that a 110v to 240v transformer is a bit of a heavy lump too and id need one so it all adds up.

I will eventually rip it all out and go back to a normal propshaft.
I just have to be careful ripping it all out and hope i dont create any problems down the line.

I'd have it if I wasn't so heavy already desperately trying to get it on a diet just so I can carry things to jobs

Ill be honest i have no idea what my t350 weighs with all this extra kit on it but i have stripped a load of heavy solid shelving out of the back so thats got to have done a little difference in shedding weight…

I did fire up the two pto units the other day and it was quite interesting to see the van fire into action the engine rpms raised to about 1.5 so i thought that was quite good that it wasn't revving the ass out of the van..

If i had any idea what it was worth id probs set about stripping it all off to get it listed up

It should all be fairly stand alone but it will have a connection into the PCM I think to give it the signal to raise revs when PTO engaged. You may also need to plug van in with a good diagnostics (generally forscan or IDS are the two trusted amongst forum regulars) and tell it there's no PTO fitted once it's all out.

Ok yes i have been playing about with both the PTO units and the van revs do pick up to 1.5k revs when the pto lever is switched over..
Also the viscus fan is well not viscus any more i think they may have altered it to keep the engine more cool when the pto is engaged..
Makes the van sound real airy lol am wondering tho will this cause any problems or is it fine to just leave as is (assuming its probs fine as they have been driving around with it like that for 100k miles)

I also have a laptop proper cable and forscan but im no genius with forscan and still learning but ill have a look into that when the times comes..
