Ok thats fair enough.

Change oil and run if for abort 1000-2000 miles.

Change oil again.

Use full synt. oil like Castrol 5W/30 for turbo diesel...

Oil is cheep, engine repair is costly.

I change oil every 5000 km. in our RV Transit 2,4 tdi 125.

(A RV engine is full loaded in weight all the time)

Don't mess with engine flush or mixing different oil brands from different manufactures.

Mixing additives do more harm then good.

Change brake fluid and service the calipers with new seals etc.
Parts are cheep...

I fitted a manufacture new turbo in our Transit after 120.000 km !
The compressor wheel was damaged, there was no oil leak.

Fitting new turbo core, can be trickey, and the boost pressure need to be checked/adjusted.

If the turbo do not leak oil or it is not "singing" leave it "in peace"

I see on enay you can actually buy just the cc controls that have been removed from other steering wheel.
I am wondering if i can buy that and just fit it to my wheel?

Did you fill the new filter with fresh fuel before refitting..?? If not, that's why it was hard to start.

2006 - Septmber 26 2011 are Euro-4.... 2.2's are FWD...2.4 RWD's were discontinued at this point.

All Mk7's Sept 26 2011 onwards are all Euro-5 2.2 FWD and RWD till 30th of December 2014.

Depends on what your requirements are... RWD's tend to tow or pull a load a bit better hence why there's no FWD tippers or recovery machines. FWD have ~4" more headroom in the back of vans due to lower floor as they have no gearbox or diff to worry about under the floor.

No i didn't because i was being a corner cutting moron and assumed my vacuum pump would do the job…

So after pulling fuel through with vacuum pump and then causing the starter to temporarily cut out due to not leaving enough time between bursts (was cranking for 10secs then leaving for a min or so then cranking again) turned out not to be long enough and threw a powertrain fault anyways left the van for a good half hr starter cooled down i popped to the garage to buy fuel and when i took the fuel filter off i discovered that it had only half filled with fuel so my assumption that it was full from vacuum pumping it was wrong lol so filled filter to brim popped it back on vacuumed it again to make sure then some easy start and within a few goes of cranking the engine fired up perfectly..

I quite prefer that i have a RWD i think when it comes to a clutch change it will be easier on RWD as its all simpler to get to..
And even on a camchain change on rwd its right there front of engine yet fwd aren't the engines in side ways making the cam chain down the side of the engine bay.. harder to change?
