FUNNY THING ON SEAT

On the left hand side of the drivers seat base, at the rear, there is an odd-shaped black plastic box with a clip-on red cover.

What is it?

main fuse, under the seat on a mk7 is a big unit that is a connection block, fuse panel thingy, full width of the seat, next to the battery, that red thing is part of it

not sure as dont have hand book to hand, but think i read that this is also a connection point for accessories,

on the back of the seat base is a small black plastic housing with a flat red cover on the left hand side of it.

lifting the cover reveals three threaded terminals which are capable of supplying 60amps.
