Mk7 twin wheel minibus wheels

Postby Uncle_Fester » Thu Sep 30, 2021 4:16 pm

Hi all, I'm looking at some stainless steel wheel trims (deep dish) and only seem to find ones to fit mk6, so my question is are mk7 steel wheels (deep dish 6 wheelnuts) the same as the mk6?
In my ignorance I would assume that they are, but you know what assume did

Cheers all

I am fairly sure the Mk7 wheels are the same as Mk8 wheels, and the Mk8 wheels are 6" wide. (easily identified as they have they have 12 round holes in them) The Mk5 wheels are only 5" wide and have 6 oval slots in them. (I have both a Mk5 and Mk8 here so can verify that information)

Whether or not those wheel trims will fit your Mk5 is very hard to say, you would have to test fit to be sure. They usually fit quite tight to the rim, so I would say it is unlikely they will fit.

Report back and let me know what you find, as I need a set for a Mk5 myself!

Just re-read my post, and can not edit it. I meant Mk6 and Mk8 wheels, not Mk5 and Mk8! I have a Mk6 (2001) and Mk8 (2020) which I checked the rim sizes on, and they are 5" and 6" wide respectively. If you can find a set for a Mk8, (which should be easy enough as they are current) they should fit your Mk7.

I found two Stainless wheel trim sets to fit MK7 Twin rear wheel:

Euroliners (Expensive!) : https://www.wheelandmotion.com/euroliners/wam35a/

Bragan also do a set: https://www.bragan.net/to-fit-ford-tran ... overs.html

I have the set from Bragan as I could not justify the cost of the Euroliners..

Hi. Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm also looking to get a set for my MY7 twin wheel bus, but can only find Mk8 ones listed and the ad's say 'not suitable for earlier models'
From the look of it, theres a difference of 2.5mm in the offset of the Mk7 and Mk8 wheels, so might be what the issue is?
The links posted above are no longer active.
Thanks.

Hi, I'm back, had login issues...
No, is tge answer, I haven't managed to find any trims that will fit the mk7, plenty for mk8 though.
I'll keep googling.

As far as I'm aware the Mk6 and Mk7 wheels (twin wheel, deep dish) are the same, (as far as wheeltrim fitment is concerned) 16"x6" but the Mk8's are different.

I'll take your word for it as I'm no expert

So can anyone tell me if the wheels from an Iveco daily heavy (twin wheel) are the same as the mk transit? I've googled it and drawn a blank.
