was filter on tight enough?
check hoses around filter one may have been knocked and letting in air.

We have replaced the fuel filter & the housing as this was a simple job for us to do but it has not solved the problem.
I'm going to have to wait for the garage i think.
Once we get it started it has like a rough idle. Also if i go to boot it a little bit it seems to cut out and the diesel like flashes.
And also there is a bit of black smoke.
A couple weeks ago i had a FUEL PUMP INLET METERING VALVE fitted onto the pump & also the mass flo sensor tested. So it ain't those 2 things.
Also had the EGR valve cleaned.
We can't find any broken or split pipes either.
If i drive it normal like around 30 to 40 mph without booting it the it would run all day.
I over the weekend has spent a few hours on here & what a brill site. Thankyou .
So if the fuel is drawing back to the tank can that cause the black smoke & the rough idle & the cutting out & going into limp mode.
Maybe i have a tired pump. My mileage is around 140.000 and the history says the injectors were replaced @ 85.000 miles.
I'm going to do a sneaky one with the RAC this morning just to get the codes because the engine light is on. I will screenshot the codes and put them on here.
I'm begging for mercy guys as my holiday is in a couple weeks.
Many thanks in advance for your replies and you comments are much appreciated.

I was waiting for an email from the guy i originally bought it from.
He believes it is a tdci mk6 130bh 2 litre.
He is not sure if it's the original engine.
I do have some codes though
p1211 & p0251.
Thanks in advance
