Mk7 injector fault

Postby Needs1975 » Tue Jul 13, 2021 5:45 pm

Can anyone shed any light on this pls? 2007 MK7 2.4 115bhp RWD Tipper. Sometimes it runs fine sometimes runs like a pig. A garage suspected the usual PRV/SCV faults, but before fitting them he tried to clear the codes. But theres a fault cose that wont clear - p2148-17 fuel injector group A supply voltage high. He didnt replace the PRV or SCV as he said he wouldn’t be able to do the learns with this fault still present. Ive also got p037D-29 glow plug sense circuit and p062b-16 internal control module fuel injector control performance. Are these faults all linked? Any idea whats wrong? Tia

Someone may have attempted to do the learns at least once before as the P062B fault code is logged during the injector learns.

Have you done an injector leak-off test..?? Well worth doing if you suspect an injector fault. Also check the injector looms and connectors for poorly wiring etc..

You may have a blown glow plug or poorly loom/connection causing the P037D fault.

Thanks Lord, the scanner also showed me a snapshot of the cylinder contribution/balance readings, which are :- cylinder 1 -699 cylinder 2 2.3 cylinder -1.1 cylinder 4 -507. Are cylinders 1&4 group A? It would seem odd to have 2 duff injectors and the van still starts.

hello
did you ever find the issue that was giving you the bad cylinder contribution? I have the same kind of numbers on my transit.

thanks

Update, the fault turned out to be ECU, or PCM as they are more commonly known. Due to its location it suffers from water ingress. Injectors 1&4 are controlled from a common supply within the PCM, this supply was faulty causing the problem
