2005 2.4 transit head aching stein... egr/intercooler

Postby Rickita85 » Wed Apr 09, 2025 10:27 pm

Hi, new owner of a 2005 2.4 transit . Bought as a summer project as needed welding an that's my thang. I have ran into problems. The pipe from egr to intercooler was split so was replaced ad now won't start with a need one an seems to be pressure rising. Wen took off wil stay running. Any ideas for a dum welder? Any ideas will be super welcome good or bad thank yall

Which engine do you have..?? TDDi 90, 115, 120, 125 or TDCi 135..??

You're talking about the boost pipe from intercooler to the EGR mounted on the inlet manifold....right..??

What fault codes are you getting..?? Is the glow plug light flashing..??

Hi ya thanks for the response. It's a 115, and yea it's the pipe on right that goes to intercooler, it has a sensor on it at the bottom. Can you tell I'm.new to this

Just get Forscan and one of their recommended cables....It's free to download onto a windows lappy.

https://forscan.org/download.html

It's "OBD" reader...not obc.! OBD stands for "On Board Diagnostics"..

Forscan is definitely what you want, and the download is free (I'm still using the free version as I've not needed to do anything more than check the system so far, but you can get a free trial period also). Then by an interface tool like this one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165918696853

Not expensive and works well. Forscan will give you so many more options than a scanner, and the guys one here will be able to help with codes etc.

Good luck
