Mk7 fwd euro 4 turbo replacement

Postby DanMK7uk » Sun Apr 13, 2025 8:40 pm

Hi everyone,Any tips / guidance on replacing a turbo on these.

How hard to access the 4 nuts ontop ? Looks awkward

The 3 on the cat dont look to bad aslong as they come off !

Cheers

Depends on which engine you have as to which turbo is fitted....the lower powered ones, 85, 110 & 115 use a wastegate type, the higher powered ones 130 & 140 use a VNT type.

Good luck getting the nuts off...a good soaking with loose juice a few days before may help...but if they're badly corroded...they often get rounded off or snap the studs.

115 will be a wastegate type...replacing the studs may be a good idea....but getting the old ones out can turn into a mare....if badly corroded, they usually just snap of flush.
