Will not turn over 2.2 tdci

Hi i am trying to fix a 2.2 tdci fwd 2010 transit. My problem is that it will not turn over. I have changed nothing except the electronic switch at the back of the ignition switch. As i heard that could be a problem area and it was cheap fix. Does this have to be reprogrammed?. The van opens as normal and and the ignition when turned on looks good until i turn it over then nothing. I have put it thru the computer and it says no faults. All i can hear is a clicking from the main fuse box in the engine bay. It started to be hard to get going for a while.

When you say you hear a clicking from the fuse box. Are you sure it's from the fuse box? If the battery is very weak, you'll hear the starter solenoid clicking in and out rapidly (this is because the solenoid is engaged when you turn the ignition key to crank, but as soon as it completes the circuit, the battery voltage drops and it let's go of the solenoid. Then immediately the voltage increases and the solenoid engages again...etc, over and over). You mentioned it had been hard to start for a little while. I'd say first check is to ensure your battery is okay.

Do you have twin batteries fitted under the driver's seat..??

If lights and ignition lights are strong/bright it most likely is the starter motor needing replaced or repaired
