Ecu dead

Had ecu checked and its dead cant even clone it as cant get any data off been told can only be done at main dealer anyone know if i can just use ecu bcm and clocks and key from another van

Mk6 or Mk7..?? You don't say which you have..??

PCM's rarely fail, what symptoms do you have..??

Why can't you use a code reader..?? Engine doesn't need to be running to read the codes.

Presumably no ignition ? switch maybe … always a suspect. I keep a spare now :lol:

I'm not experiencing any problems with mine (touch wood) but am reading a lot about ignition switch failures. Are they really that bad? Should I carry one as a spare? I assume it's like this one...

Yep....that's the one...cheap and easy to replace....many of us keep a spare in the glovebox, they fail with monotonous regularity...
