2010 MK7 seat belt light

Postby Moonscross » Sun Jun 29, 2025 1:51 pm

Hi
I have an annoying permanent seat belt indication on the dash even when key is out.. :(
i have done the following but light persists:
I have checked, as best i could, the seat buckles and have cleaned them
removed battery to reset the BCU/ECU

Seems this is driving towards a faulty occupancy sensor (seat pressure pad on the passenger seat) however this is embedded in the seat itself and i cant locate any wiring loom under the seat

I also cant find any wiring diagrams relating to this... :(

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue..?

Removing the battery to reset the BCM/ECU does nothing except require you to reset the clock and radio code. It does not reset the PCM or BCM....they don't have an ECU as such.

Are you sure it's not an airbag light?? Some Transits don't have seat occupancy lights....mine doesn't.

Hi
Thanks for your replies...
pretty sure its the seat belt light, i have taken a pic but unable to load on this reply..

Its a red indication of a person sat on a seat with a seatbelt, which is different to the yellow air bag warning indicator ..

Hi thanks for your replies
Pretty sure its the seat belt warning indicator...have been trying to upload a pic onto this reply but unable to..more than likely me.

Indicator which is permanently on is red and depicts a person sat on a seat with a seat belt..which is different to the yellow airbag fault light

I have a 2010 SWB Fwd 2.2 140 and the airbag light is on. From the above post.

From the owners manual which is used for the 2012 Transit.
