Temperature Engine Sensor - Mk7 2.2 FWD 2007

Postby LevelUpDad89 » Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:29 pm

Hi all,
I am in urgent need of changing my CHT, I have the part here with me. Can anyone give me any help with this? any pictures, guidance or tips would be hugely appreciated!
Also, any ideas how long this will take roughly?
Thank you!

Ideally you need a 15mm long slotted socket to remove/replace the sensor. I believe the fuel pump needs to be removed to access the sensor, shouldn't take too long, an hour maybe, there's an O-ring on the pump drive which may need replacing when disturbed.....there's no coolant involved as the sensor only reads the cylinder head aluminium temp. On the FWD Euro-4 it lives on the cyl head between the fuel pump and vacuum pump. Pig of a thing to get at on the RWD's.

not really sure if even that thiccc black socket would fit on Fwd. probably have to buy the long sheet metal tube and cut a hole in that, plus a suitable height

It does fit...I've used mine a few times on various Transits. RWD is a pig to get to though, from underneath is easier. On the FWD's it's fairly easy to get at.
