MK7 (06/06) no power on injectors

Postby zbrusz » Fri Dec 07, 2012 7:27 am

I have a Ford Transit, 06/06, SWB, VM, T330, 2.4L Turbo Diesel, 6 speed manual, RWD and it does not want to start.

Our problem is that while the car is cranking there is no power being provided to the injectors therefore the car will not start. On some rare occassions there will be power on the injectors and the car starts up fine, but this is very rare.
Everything else work, it regonises the immobiliser, the glow works, just no power is given to the injectors

We took the car to the local ford dealer and he is saying it could be an ECU problem but he is unsure. I believe it is something else since it can start once in a while. One of the sensors might not be giving the required signal to the ECU to provide power to the injectors.
This is the diagnostic report that we got from the ford dealer
- Found injector circuit malfunction and voltage below threshold. C/O pin point wiring test. And then goes on and says requires PCM (ECU) 1st and then retest.
The only problem with this is that the dealer wants $1400 for a new ECU and if this does not fix the problem then we have wasted money as they will not take the ECU back.

So basically from all this I would like to know what sensors are required by the ECU to provide power to the Injectors and if it is possible to get an engine layout pinpointing where these sensors are located.
Or any other information that could help us rectify the problem.

Have both batteries been tested and proved to be good?

Hi I'm having the exact same issue. Did you end up solving it? I also found your discussion on just answer. I'm just about to swap out my ecu but it didn't seem like it worked for you.
So far I've replaced the crankshaft, ignition key and EGR.
I'm pulling my hair out trying to solve it.
