Crankshaft position sensor air gap mk7

Been looking but can't find this anywhere - does anyone know what the air gap is for the crankshaft position sensor on the 2.4L duratorque engine? I know a new sensor has a bit of sacrificial plastic at the tip but I am as part of engine reassembly just putting the old one back and as the DMF is new the tabs that trigger the sensor may not be exactly the same so want to ensure gap correct...

I think I answered my own question; so supposedly I should position the sensor so that it is just clear of the timing teeth, ie as though the titty has just been ground off and therefore barely touching..

There's cross hairs on the end of the sensor which supposedly shave when you got the sensor in.

I usually push it in gently and you can rotate the engine slowly and the sensor kind of bounces between the teeth. But you can butt it upto a tooth and that will be fine, I've never had issues of miss reading.

What our Loot said....just push it in lightly until it touches a tooth. It will make it's own air gap.
