I have weird pipes. Anyone else?

Postby andrewh8877 » Sat Mar 21, 2026 10:46 pm

Hello,

My van is a Mk7, 2.2 125hp RWD from 2013.
It went in for it's MOT in January, one of the pipes to the powersteering pump had a slight split and needed to be replaced. However, it appeared not be a standard part, my local independant garage spent ages trying to find one, and the Ford main dealer were unable to help. We eventually found one for sale on Lithuanian ebay for a lot of money but otherwise nothing. In the end had to have one made by a local JCB dealer.
.
So, my current problem. This week a clutch fluid pipe has split, the one in the picture. For reference the fluid reservoir is up and left of the picture. This pipe is against the bulkhead just in front of the steering wheel. The garage have come across the same problem, this does not appear to be a standard Ford part, and they and I have both failed to find it on google.
.
Can anyone advise on what's going on? Definitely a UK spec van, one owner before me was a lease company who rented it to a construction company in Aberdeen. I dismissed the PS pump thing as maybe a non-original pump (although as far as I know it's origianal, and I've had it since 2019) but two non-standard pipes on one van is weird.
Even better, has anyone got similar and knows where we can get the correct pipe from?

Thanks,
Andy

is that a brake pipe next to it .. that looks like its ready to fail as well. brake pipe has been repaired a long time ago leads to Union with what looks like a copper pipe that goes out to the caliper , i don't know what that circular ribbed plastic looking thing is.

all the best.mark

catcar does not show as is on vehicle.
2012 VIN used.

Eng comp pipes 2013 reduced txt.jpg

Is DPF.
Likely pipe usage.
2012 Mk7.

Might help to determine pipes.

Seems it's as well to have the pipe made up - need to have the same ID and wall thickness. Better to bring the old as is pipe with connectors - no additional bends. New pipe could be routed differently.
Take van to pipe shop.
