MK6 2nd Gear shifting help

Postby Duckteas » Sun Mar 22, 2026 10:35 am

Struggling with the van going into 2nd and sometimes 1st gear on my 2003 Mk6 Transit FWD. The gear lever almost feels like it's getting stuck and not fully engaging the gears.
I’ve already replaced the selector housing bearing/seal (cleaned and lubed) and fitted new blue and gray cables and the cables have been adjusted, but chaning to 2nd and 1st is still somewhat inconsistant?
Any help on what to look at next would be great?

new to working on vans, will answer questions as best I can.
