Does it have an EGR cooler .. is it possible for water to run into the cylinders if its faulty.. would that make it hard to start .. and the starter motor sometimes inoperative.

"ALL" Mk6 & Mk7 Transits have an EGR Cooler.

As mentioned, it's a service function....very few people do it as a part of a service, even more people don't even know about it. If parts of the high pressure fuel system are repaired or replaced, the learns should be done. No two pumps, injectors or valves are exactly the same even if they share the same part number. The learns will reset the system back to datum and tune the injector timing and flows to the pump pressure, flow and capacity.

You'll need Forscan and a "V-Linker" OBD-II cable.

Get Forscan and do it yourself...if it fails the learns, you can diagnose it and just start again, Forscan is free and the cable is cheap....getting a garage to do it is time consuming ridiculously costly, especially if it fails to go through a few times, which is common....much more than the cost of the cable.

Can we assume it has passed the learns..?? If it has there is no reason to replace the SCV.....they don't have a separate fuel pressure regulator...the SCV does this job. There is an electronic pressure "sensor" on one end and a relief valve on the other end of fuel rail, no regulator.

Is the fuel filter still full after sitting for a few hours or overnight..?? Or is it hard to start when hot..??
