Temp and fuel gauge still reading with ignition off.

2002 Mk6 Auto Sleepers 2.4 125

Been out and about in this hot weather and noticed after getting back in after a few hours that the fuel and temp gauges were still showing. Engine started and temp returned to cold and operated normally - going up until I stopped. Parked up and both gauges still showing readings prior to turning engine off.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
