Sliding Door Issue - Has Anybody Actually Fixed This?

Hi all, I'm sick and tired of doing the "Transit Lean" to get my 2010 T300's sliding door to unlock/lock - it's getting to the point where it's a crapshoot even when I lean into it. Do I need to replace the locking mechanism? Sensors? Is this something that's easy to do, and get parts for? Please, please, please - help me get this stupid Transit issue taken care of once and for all.

Bonus points if you can tell me where to get those awful plastic clips for the removable back door paneling - I installed a rear camera, and the damn things are snapped. Thank you all

Adjust the door so the pins sit on the contacts properly.

Likely the plastic outer will have fallen off the bearing and the door has dropped.

Dod of grease on each pin on the door.
Slide shut and close carefully.
Open carefully and look where the markets are on the contact plate.

They never sit right in the middle but you can adjust the rear roller up/down forward and back to sort alignment, check the bodywork line and gap around the door too.

Plastic clips I've usually pocketed a spare handful when I've been at a breakers.

I'll try this, but the odd thing is that the van doesn't honk when I lock it - wouldn't honking be the indicator that the pins are off? I'm hoping it's not the actual locking mechanism instead

I had a similar problem on my mk 6 it was the lever system in the locking mechanism sticking spraying wd 40 over it and working it cured it

"Audible miss lock" is an option that can be turned on and off in the BCM config.

Does it toot if you leave any other doors open and try to lock it?

The other common fault is the actuator, the plastic mechanism fails and the motors work but it doesn't throw the linkage.
Cheap for spurious ones and not overly complicated to fit. Just getting the mechanism out and back in the door can be a fiddle

change the mechanism for either a new or good second hand, new pads and pins are not that expensive, but the mechanism is for the sliding door , I've tried in vain to sort but once mechanism is worn bin it, once you get a new one fitted...... life will be so much better
