Reducing Road Noise / Insulation Tips?

Hey all, I'd like to reduce the interior noise on long trips in my 2010 Transit - has anybody done this successfully? I was thinking insulation in the panels and heavy curtains on the windows, but not sure how effective that may be

Best bet would be closed cell foam insulation. Excellent sound absorbing properties. Its self adhesive. In terms of where to put it, you would need to whip off the door cards and have a good look. What tyres you got on ?

As Dan says, i used 8mm closed cell foam in the door steps it made quite a difference, i did the inside of the door skins as well as above the head lining, a new floor mat made a big difference as well.

For years on my self built campers I’ve used recycled plastic bottles insulation and waxoided it first I had to remove a panel for repair 8 years later and it still looked like new

I used Dynamat on the inside of the doors. It cut down a lot of the drumming and rattling.
