If you are unable to find it (or risk the wire above), my manual suggests a speed pulse generator (Pioneer ND-PG1).
Not sure what to do with my Mk6 now, don't fancy being ripped off further trying to get functionality out of this damn stereo lol.

Fitted a becker traffic pro and speed pulse on a mk6 is the 6th wire down on the right plug behind instruments,works a treat
