Funny smell

Postby jb4rrett » Sun May 21, 2006 5:05 pm

My mk6 apon start up gives a smell similar to dog sh#t, it does not always happen and when you turn the fan to re-circulating it seems to stop it. The van was serviced by ford(in january) and the odour filters were changed,so I am wondering what is causing the smell?

Nasty trick I learnt a lot of years ago . . .kipper - or dig shot - down the heater ventilation hole . . .

If fitted with a CAT it could be the CAT emptying.....all those nasty pongy vapours being couped up in the converter overnight . . .prolly depend on which way the wind was blowing as well . .from back to front you'll smell it . . from front to back you wouldn't. I guess.
