Postby stevieb » Wed Mar 08, 2006 11:13 am

I a LWB 2000 van and my leaf springs are flat as a pancake. There is three leafs in each one. Can I get the re-tempered and do you know where.

Also would i be able to take them off my self? do I need any special tools?

hope you can help

hi Stevie

there is probably nothing wrong with them m8, they bend much further than that when loaded.

If your concerned about it looking like it's overloaded, get the attitude adjustment kit fitted to it. in basic terms it's a set of blocks which go between the axle and the spring to lift the arse up a little. it won't stop the springs looking flat though

just read this - my 280 sags a bit at the rear - is the attitude adjustment kit a ford option I can get hold of? because my dealer was a bit confused as to what it was when I asked if it was available

it's not overloaded just looks a bit low at the back

thanks

Yes the kits are available from the parts department.

If they can't find the FINIS code for them, ask them to contact their service department for the number of the TSB.

They'll have no problem finding the TSB on eTIS
