brake pedal judders????

Driving on the motorway when on exiting the brake pedal was juddering,it felt like as i pressed it in it was trying to go back up,
i had new pads on about 6000 miles ago,my first thought was a warped disc,any thoughts????????

If there's nothing loose, wheel or suspension wise I'd also say discs

[For a at home test Take the wheels of,hold the end of ruler agaist disc,if ruler pushes out or drops in slighly discs will be worn,either way you can check pads at same time,good luck...BillyBun [/b]

Id think warped discs too - was there a bit of steering shake to go with it as well?

I did have a case one though on my peugeot that a seised caliper gave a quite violent shake too.

Id definately say discs.

As much of a bind as it seems, replace both the discs and the pads as well. The pads that are on now will be worn to the old discs and they will accelerate the wear rate of the new discs if retained.

if you do it youself have some wheel bearings on standby as well - just in case

thanks for the warning on that one!

is it a case of they tend to fail anyhow and its one of those "while youre there" jobs, or does disturbing the disc for changing cause an issue? Ive not been in the front brakes of the transit yet and, after that, Im not sure I want to!
