You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Cruise control

Postby Terry » Fri Jun 23, 2006 8:03 am

I would assume there is a 'factory' one but don't know for sure.
Mine came from & was fitted by a company Conrad Anderson in
Birmingham, the unit they used was not OEM either, it was a Dutch made unit.
I am away for a week now, but will get piccies if you want them.

Thanks Terry,
I can get OEM units but I,m led to believe there is a "leather steering wheel and cruise control " option which I assume has the buttons on the wheel is that something availble on the Tourneo over there? or is it availble on the Transit maybe the Exec pack?

Transit has never had factory specc'd cruise control until NOW ;)

It's now an option on V347 and V348 Transits.

The wheel you might have seen was probably from a durashift ASM vehicle and the 4 buttons are for gear change up and down.

Thanks for that Night hawk,
I have been reading some of your other posts and deduced that you might be employed by the Blue Oval, the Mark 7 looks to me like a "facelift model" I wonder if the new Cruise will fit my 9/05 built Mk6?
would you now if the front fogs are normally switched by the "pull" switch in the headlamp switch or is there another switch and where does it fit and what does it look like cause we don't get that option over here and I will fit some very shortly so will need to source the switch and lights from the UK

I've got front fogs on mine the switch just pulls out two notches instead of one - same switch on focuses etc if you have them over there they more commonly have that option - hope it helps

The engine control module is different on the new transit along with the rest if the fuel system so I don't think you'll be able to retro fit the module from one to another.

I think you'll be better off sourcing an aftermarket kit.

Maybe I could set up a parts supply business sending all our good bits out to Oz :)

I'm surprised the Transit over there didn't get the front fogs, the Australian post office pack got pretty much everything else.
mind you...do you get much fog down there?
