hey all, i regularly read the forum only just registered.
bought a mk6 transit for work not long ago, great motor.

will post picks as soon as i can get them uploaded.

but can anyone give me an address of anywhere i can get those stereo fascia covers with the extra storage bit? thanks

Do you mean so that you can fit a single din stereo?

i read it on this forum before it has a single one but instead of wasting space it has a storage, im looking for one that i can put in a second radio unit, cb 2 way radio.

That would have been on a Mk5, haven't seen them for the Mk6.

On the ones i've seen that's what they have done. You could always try Ford, you never know!

You only have the one option and that is to replace the entire plastic surround as the ones that take a normal single DIN radio can have the storage section used for another item such as a DVD or shortwave etc. The Single hole (Double DIN) can only be blocked off to take just the single DIN radio but no storage space.

*edit* whoops the pictures you posted have now decided to show, didn't realise it was a MK6, I was talking about the MK5...even though this is the MK 6 section stranger things have been posted by new members

Try a centre console from a automated 'Durashift'

That's pretty much the same as the blanking plate, except it has holes for buttons.

Try getting hold of the fasica for an ASM vehicle

the auto shift manual vehicle has a dingle DIN radio and another DIN sized aperture for the gear shift control.

I've never tried fitting a radio in the hole though.


OR

get the tachograph housing which fits in place of the clip board holder ontop of the dash.
2 DIN slots side by side and free up the old double DIN slot in the dash for a nice DVD/satnav screen.

I got one for a mk6 of ebay storage pocket is only good for small things though
