"Some issues with the 137" .........Phew, thought it was just me.
While mine hasn't broken down or anything, it is just a bit dissapointing as mentioned earlier. When I ordered mine, I had only test driven a 125rwd (10 miles on the clock) and thought it was a bit underwelming, so decided to have a 137 version for the extra £599. (as otherwise would ended up being a 'new' 115 version by the time it was built - there is a 6 to 12 month lead time for delivery with the convertor.
The main thing was on delivery, the van was barely drivable due to the clutch being far too severe. After nearly 18 months now and 16,000 miles it is getting better, visits to the dealer about it were just left me feeling insulted,as if I was a timewaster, even though the mechanic driving into the workshop stalled it twice in front of me. They said that they are all a bit like that and dismissed me.
The most annoying thing is the sporadic jerking it does at a constant speed - again described as a normal trait of this engine. It only lasts for about 2 seconds, but what a pain !
The embarrassing clouds of black smoke at totally odd moments makes our old 2.5 di look like a Toyota Prius clean machine !
I probably drive it too slowly in reality, as most of these versions will be thrashed to death, but fuel economy and longlife/lower running costs are major issues.
Having a brief drive in a new 140ps version shows I should have waited a bit and not had a 137 as I feel I have been one of the guinea pigs ! That's ok for a fleet operator to deal with, but not someone who has spent his life savings and then some on a private vehicle for leisure.
Mine has the 4.27 ? diff as the convertor refused to specify the 3.77 as they said they had had issues with other vehicles (Fiat 2.

that had too high gearing, causing warranty issues (Old people going into top gear too early !)
Sorry to drone on. But I love my van really. Do I ????
