Mark - thankyou sooo much for the advice, I really didn't know the pull starting ie bumping it under tow was so bad. Glad I didn't do that too much.
So fuel is coming out of the schrader valve with the ignition on, I don't know what kind of pressure its meant to have.
To diagnose the DPF I assume split the exhaust system just in front of the DPF?

What fault codes, (if any), are you getting..?? You don't have to have a fault light on to have fault codes stored.

My 2012 mk7 fwd 2.2 tdci
Does not have SCV PRV.

dangerous brain wrote:How do you get the fuel filter off? Theres a big plastic ribbed bowl thing there which guaranteed I will break if I try taking it off incorrectly.

There's been a break in the rain long enough to go and look under the bonnet. Mine also doesn't have SCV PRV. It has got a valve plugged into the end of the fuel rail though.
How loud is the lifter pump from the tank meant to be as Im really not hearing alot of noise from that.

Is there anything I can check or do I bite the bullet and get it towed to a garage?
