so i changed the stat but the housing leaks,as what i see there should be no leak,cus no gasket or is it just a case of tightening it up till theres no more or will this crack the housing
top tip if it runs hot change the stat!

did you replace the o ring seal on the thermostat with a new seal?

they will take a bit of pressure on the 3 bolts, but don'y go bonkers on it

no never changed o ring,is this the problem?thought this may be the root of the problem

the O ring will be the problem, it's a one time fit item which becomes distorted with contact to the air after it's been soaked in antifreeze.

if I see a transit broken down on the roadside, i'll often stop and offer assistance.

If i see a merc, i head for the nearest puddle and try and teach the stranded owner a lesson
