Mk6 questions..(engine/fwd-rwd)

Postby 23 » Sat Aug 19, 2006 11:57 pm

1) What is the most powerful (standard) engine supplied in Mk6 SWB???

2) Are the SWBs all front wheel drive? if not how do I tell (from an advert for example)

3) What is the difference between a 70ps, 80ps etc. etc. engine?? Is it just ecu mapping / turbo pressure?

Many thanks for any help in answering my probably dumb questions :D
There we are then.

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

125 ps TDCi in FWD (75, 85 and 100ps in TDdi FWD)
The TDCi was fitted to the later Mk6, I'm not sure but there is probably other power outputs other than 125 available with the later engine too.

There may also be a RWD SWB, but I've never seen one :?

Like HiCube says, 15" wheels on FWD. RWD has 16" and the load area floor is higher by about 6" over the rear door sill. FWD floor by about an inch.

The 125 ps seems rare, most are advertised (upto £5K) are 70 ps. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Is is difficult to increase motor power, say 80ps to 100ps.
There we are then.

Are you sure what Transits you're looking at :?:

I ask you this because the outputs you are quoting are all for MK5 transits built between 1994 and 2000 :!: :? :? :?:

Show me a 70PS MK6 :!:

Steer clear of those as they are the early model without an intercooler and peeps on this site are struggling to make them go :!:

What exactly are you after (engine aside) :?:

the numbers denote the gross vehicle mass

so....

350 is 3500 Kgs
280 is 2800Kgs

and so on :)
