Tracker system? This would recognise vehicle movement if moved without the engine running and you ( vehicle owner) gets a call from control room to let you know.

Surely a worthwhile investment??

I havent read all the thread pages guys so apologies if its already been covered - i'd guess the security is bypassed by via the obd socket, it certainly is on some VAG group vehicles.. you could easily extend the obd plugs wires & reroute it to a totally different part of the vehicle , only a few of the 16 pins are connected. or put the 2 CAN lines on a hidden simple connected/not connected switch..

I thought these vans were getting pinched by driving them away surely a tracker is of no use till u find its gone missing does this affect mk7's only or mk6's aswell getting very concerned about this especially when ive got a set of sportvan rims and kit going on sometime soon

Ok 10 quid mobile phone from tesco, 5 quid timer/relay circuit from maplins(you build it up/solder components in)
You basically solder 2 wires to the make call contacts on the phone keypad which go to the circuit board that goes to the trigger and you also need to sort out a phone charger, then you call the mobile from your mobile and its set up so if the alarm goes off it calls
you!
I also had a dictaphone connected so i could record a voice something like ya car is being pinched but it isn't necessary,i just put rob in my contacts, obviously don't put car alarm as ppl may read that lol.
I used an early Vodafone mn1 phone for the job.

It did work a treat but you would need to set it off once in a while to check it.
i was hoping some 1 would have a go so i could see the look on their face of astonishment

Tracker will phone you as soon as your vehicle moves without the tracker tag in it. Doesn't matter if the genuine keys or copies are used.

There are trackers and alarms that can call you up, i know there was an alarm that had a pager incorporated at the time i was trying,.
Shortly after i gave up it was on tomorrows world in Japan and was supposedly going to be available on the new mini 1 but don't know what happened lol.

But hey for around 20 quid and some soldering skills ya can't go wrong!

My first converted camper was broken into in a car pack near the golf course in Newquay... I had retreated to the comfort of my bed after drinking too much beer in town. The person that broke in was not expecting me being asleep in the back, but woke just in time to bashing him with my bat! Missed his head but it must have hurt as he made a strange noise and yelp...

My Mk7 transit was stolen last week, Slamlocks, loom covers, factory alarm & deadlocks, apparently there was seven taken in the area that week!
The police claim its easy, they clone the key.
Mine was taken off the drivers drive below an open window, no sound nothing so everyone beware!

What you need is one of these line locks. you plum it in somewhere in the cab and undo the handle so you can lock it and take the handle away you. you press the footbrake to lock the wheels turn the lever brakes lock on so it has to be drag away and that make loads of noise

One major flaw in the alarm route is that the negative lead from the battery runs down the outside of the drivers seat, open door, cut lead, everything dead. Yet another bad design by ford. I have about an extra 2 miles of cable in mine, tracker, microwaves, tilt sensor, ultrasonics, ect. Plus it's locked away on a fenced hardstand, also cctv. Yet I await coming home to find it nicked:(
