Can't find ids in task manager.
I'm starting to feel the wrath of being a computer dumb dumb now. Ha

I'm fed ip woth mine I still can't get my computer blanked to install it !

I had mine working sound the other night. Led me into false hope. Thought it would be plug and play when ever I want or need it

sounds like a corrupt file or something, did you shut down or hibernate with VCM still attached?

I know this caused problems with my XP as i always used to hibernate it rather than shutting down (long winded explanation about network protocol stuff).... but got blue screen of death sometimes, though mostly started ok.

will check some info tomorrow if i get a chance

Plug the vcm into the car with ignition on, it'll boot up and then turn laptop on, ids should see it quicker and with luck won't get stuck at network services.

Your too late Loot. My impatience kicked in and balllsed it up totally. Ha. Tried re installing and uninstalling. And now won't reload. So I'm starting from scratch. Just been and got my hands on a cheap old lap running windows 7. Gonna keep it solely for ids and hopefully have more luck. I'm just installing Ids right now. Ah the joys of Sunday afternoons eh.

had no issues with win7 ... yet much less grief than xp, but I do use mine for other things too,

Got mine installed on a fresh copy of windows7. Only used for IDS and nowt else.
Full install and working perfect with no issues. Could not have managed without loot's help.

Just hope everyone has a reliable vcm, i haven't had a reply off obd2tool.co.uk(found out it was them not obdtool)
I wonder if i should put a claim in on PayPal? Is that possible after 3 months?
