No I don't sell them I use the on my classic cars and yes I have had someone try and nick one got it running but left with out the car I found it in the morning still running they could not move it

I rang up Ford Customer Care to complain when my spare wheel got stolen, the van was only 2 weeks old and Ford stated it had a secure system for the spare, yet all the crook did was cut that stupid cable and hey presto the wheel drops off. This is the worst design ever. To my suprize ford offered me £100 towards the cost of a new wheel, which I accepted. However 3 days later I had a call to say the manager had rescinded the offer, so Ford are pretty crap in quite a few ways.

I have a small bike D lock which goes round the steering linkage and brake pedal, the there is a short cable that goes from the D lock up around the steering wheel.. Fingers crossed it will slow them down!

I thought the new transit was supposed to be very secure.

My Mk 7 is the love of my life.

It is fully alarmed, but am now wondering, how to increase the security on it.

I had the complete front of my last Transit stolen when parked in my drive.

got a viper 480vx on mine and it has a transponder fob which beeps when someone stays close to your van for too long or the alarm goes off. Transit vans with standard ford security are too easy to steal . . . new alarm was only £300 fitted, and is cat 1 so cheaper insurance

This does not seem to apply to mk6 vans as of yet, they are still secure. He is in the process of getting a full report put together and video proof to present to Fords, as they are currenty refusing to accept this is even a possibilty...however evidence is now showing that they definately over engineered the electronics on the mk7....and made a gleeming error in the process

He says the only real way to secure them is to fit extra security locks to prevent the doors being opened even if the ford locks are undone, and add an extra immobiliser, although not completely foolproof, it will slow down a thief who is trying the easy method, and they probably wont bother if its gonna take too long to do.

Mk6 transits are easily taken. Mine (luckily??) had no diesel in and was left a few street away, i wont say how they did it for fear of someone using the info but is way too easily done. Ford should be ashamed. Got a cat 1 viper now.

the way to stop ur van from being stolen is fit a pedal lock easy to make i have them on my transits and lorry clutch and brake locked together so when u press the clutch the brake goes on to simple .

On this he made a heavy duty d type lock that passed through the loop and over the axle, making it impossible to nick. This was 20 years ago. One morning he got up and the car was gone, however the hoop and lock was still intact on the slab! They will find a way. Fit a tracker, it's the best £100 you can spend.

What tracker are you getting fitted for £100 ?

Toad, it's just a posh phone in a box. Works a treat, when alarm on you just text "?" To it and it will tell you the signal strength in that area. Moment the alarm goes off I get a text.

if i knew how they did it I could prob develop something to counter act it, for my friends van I made plugs for the obd socket and relocated it leaving a false one that still powered up etc but let no access to the ecu, it all depends how its done, im presume similar to the bmw situation with the key programing scenareo

It would be good to relocate but add a 240v pin to the original to blow their device

You need to make it s they can't get to the obd without setting off the alarm, then a double pole switch, one side disconnect odb pin, other side ignition live to horn. Simple mods work best if the crooks using hi tech.
