Steering wheel fitted now. Turned out to be very handy. Now time for the software and possibly a remap. :-D

Want a remap with egr delete and I also want my cruise control activated. Would make sense to get all done with u. Let me knw what u think.

Hi,
I am a new user of this forum, from Norway. Seems like a nice place to get help with a few issues :)

I have been reading this thread with interest, and have a few questions.
I already have a C BCM in my car, so all I need is a steering wheel and a couple of wires.

1. About the wires with ford terminal ends, can I find these terminals from wires on any Ford car, a focus or a mondeo ? And only from a BCM module ?
2. After installation of steering wheel and wires I need to add the cruise control software with the IDS, is that something I can get done on a local Ford dealer with IDS ?

Hope you can help.

Hi i don't know what other fords use the same cable ends, the clips appear to be made by Peugeot i think, the worst thing you can do is inspect your cable ends and get some of the same, the software can be installed with ids but needs modifying by vantuner, Ford won't like this and certainly won't do it for you :-(

Thanks for your reply loot34.
Since I live in Norway, visiting Vantuner is unfortunately not an option for me.

I have earlier worked as a mechanic at a Ford dealer, and my now former colleague wouldn't have any problem helping me With the IDS, if he had the proper software, and instructions, maybe I will try to contact Vantuner and find out what is possible....?

Possible solution....

Here is the As Built Data for :- 2009 Transit T260 SWB 2.2 TDCI 115ps equipped with the following

Cruise Control
External ambient air temp (Perfect for snowflake club  )
Auto wipe/lights
Heated front screen
Front Fog lights
BT/VC
ABS/ESP

Image

If you trick IDS into thinking module is blank & providing original calibration is not available on your IDS system. It should request manual entry of As built Data. Proceed by entering the above codes when instructed.

Also, I do have the actual Calibration file available to anyone that may require it :D
& can also provide info for 125, 130 & 140ps....

Thanks, this could be useful.
However, I have been talking to Martyn at Vantuner, he was very helpful and could also provide me a file.
I will talk to my "IDS friend" to find out if he has the skills to do this.

My car is the '08 T350 Jumbo, 140 HP, do you have a file for that one ? My BCM is a CB.

If your engine is the 2.2 TDCI 140ps, then yes I have calibration file for all the optional extras.

I don't have it for the 2.4 TDCI 140ps thought :(

Ok, I have the 2.4 TDCI 140ps.

Have met my friend With the IDS, and it seems like he is unable to help me With Programming the bcm, but Vantuner said he could try helping me if I sent him a module.
I can't send the bcm installed in my car, so I am thinking of finding another one from the breakers, do I need to program it for my ignition keys before I send it ?

Yes, my former colleague updated all my software and programmed a new key for me last monday.
But he said he was unable to program my bcm with any other file from an external unit.

I think I will have to calculate the cost for this project, and compare to what a aftermarket unit from Conrad Anderson will cost.
