I know nothing about cars or vans but have tried reading up on the lpg transits and have never heard of the stepper motor. Where abouts is it located pls?

Also Rowdey. How did it go with Edward?
Thanks

it's in the top of the gas divider - carefull as you go, i think springs and allsorts like to fly out..

Edward is coming to me on Wednesday afternoon.. :D :D

As a follow up, Edward came to see me today (after seeing M4tty) and my non-running issue on LPG wouldn't happen for him..

Still, he deduced it down to the tank solenoid coil, and swapped it out. It had a crack in the housing so clearly ferked, and replaced with new.

Gave it a service, including leak checks, filter swaps, pressure diff check, Co and co2 readings etc.

Wouldn't run on LPG this morning, without fault on way home.. :D

I think M4tty also had a good morning with him..

In summary, well worth having someone who DOES know these systems, and although i haven't had the invoice yet, good value for money. :) :)

Hi Rowdey,

Was good to meet you today, and glad to hear your van drove fine, Your van is not the first I've arrived to work on and then found it just will not misbehave :)
Hopefully it will continue to behave but as I said if it does misbehave again keep a listen out for that solenoid click at the front and we can go from there.
I have only just returned home and thought I would have a look for the other van you mentioned, signed into this forum after 18 months away and found this thread.
I will try to find the time as soon as I can to have a read through this thread in detail but for now I need some sleep :)

Thank you again,
Edward.

Hi everyone , its been a while since i last posted :D ,ive sort of got the hang of this LPG set up , and can do most things to service it now ,but i do have one niggling problem  , it takes sometimes 15 miles before my van will allow the LPG system to run on gas :| , but sometimes it does as its told withing 5 miles :D , is this a heat censer problem ?, once up to temperature the van runs fine all day long , apart from the occasional when going down hill it will get the old green bottle flashing fast , which means shes gone to petrol, the only way to solve this is to switch the engine off while cruising , not turning it off so the steering lock comes on  ,then restart it, then shes back on board and running fine . Any ideas please :?:

Could it simply be that the thermostat is stuck open?

What do you reckon about being at Transitmania at Great Billing at the end of August.Initially Edward the LPG specialist said that he would be able to be there to service a few LPG vans over that weekend.I think we would need a couple more at least though to make it worth his while travelling from Shropshire.
Keep in touch

Didnt bother trying to fix vaporiser , dont even think about it , very very difficult , bought new .

Van ran fine for a week , then played up again , this time it was the RPM FILTER , again !!!!

I like the idea of cheap fuel , but i am begining to think i should have just boght a diesal .

When LPG is running right its vantastic, but when it messes about its a ===t, its cost me £500 to get this sorted out . :D
