Look, if you pay vantuner for the modded software, you can send it to me and I'll remotely install it via your friends ids system if that helps?
It really isn't that hard and as it is factory system it isn't classed as a modification.

I don't do anything to my van myself. It's cheaper that way as then I don't have to pay someone to repair what I messed up and then do the job properly.

I mention this because I just had cruise control added to my mk7 ex-RAC van and did none of the work. I should also mention that a retrofit kit is available for the thick end of £800.

First cost was a C-Max steering wheel from e-Bay £70.00 incl. P&P

Second cost was getting it fitted. £65.00

Third cost was getting Vantuner to make it work. £75.00

Total £210.00

Change from £800 £590.00

Thanks Martyn, a brilliant job, I got to try it out on the way home and it is fantastic.

Now, what do I absolutely need that costs £590? Err? Ummm?

Had a bloke booked to do it today who was sure he could do it using Delphi, I told him last week that 2 people had tried with Delphi and couldn't do it. He turned up, couldn't do it and then said I need to see his mate who has IDS. grrrr

Only ids can do it, and only if they know how to modify the software, it's not in the normally configurable options.

Fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow. I would love to go up to Vantuner but it's a long way from Devon.

If you read this thread fully you'll know it can't be done without software.
Have you got the high spec bcm and wires etc? :-)
I did 1 last Friday for a members brother.
Fitted bcm and wires, initialised it all and software.
Great news is that you only need 1 key programming to do it, saved a bit of messing as he only had 1 key.
Get in touch with vantuner and I'm sure he'll sort you out with what you need
