Ok, it might be an idea to get a auto electrician to sort it out. Fixing it or rewiring it will require a similar amount of work and difficulty.

Afternoon all, saves starting new thread i'll revive this one. I have traced my reverse light failure to the switch on the gearbox, (they work with a jumper cable at the connector) - Im struggling to get the switch out. Has anyone got a method without waiting a week for a bendy spanner to arrive? I can get my 22mm open end on it but it feels like its going to slip, if i knock plastic end off the connector i will be able to get a socket on it i think. Is there any trick to do it another way? Thanks alot. Nick. (Its a rwd 6 speed)

Assuming it's a Mk7 6 speed..?? You don't actually say what model Transit you have.

I have a ground down ring spanner that fits mine...works fine. Just be aware there are a couple of different switches for them, one longer than the other..!

So it's a Mk6 2.4 TDCi 135 6 speed...??

Ford Pn for the Mk6 switch is 1461586. Should be the same as the Euro-4 Mk7 6 MT82 speed...but different to the later Euro-5 Mk7 6 speed which is Pn: 1805256.
