Update:
1 I took off the chain guard and inspection did not reveal anything unusual. All guides, sprockets and the tensioner intact and a little play in the chain. Also no deposit on the housing anywhere.
2 I have just removed the valve cover and inspected the camshaft and inspect the head. These had no visible damage and the frame was intact. But, I found a alu looking metal particle in the oil passage channel downwards, see photo, the part at the end of my torx screwdriver.. I do not know if this is a part that was left behind when milling this channel, it was a little bit stuck in the channel and when pushing it fell further down. Does anyone have an idea what this could be from in the cylinder head? Camshaft and valves etc. seem to be fine at first sight, undamaged.
I had done an oil flush before the work and then drove a short distance. Then I looked at the oil and found no 1mm aluminum parts but a lot of small, seemingly small particles in the oil: the oil shines with these minuscule particles when flowing on a dark background in the sun.
I still think that the problem is in the cylinder head and I plan to remove it and replace it. That is less work than replacing an engine. The oil pump has also been ruled out because there is sufficient pressure and the oil filter is after the pump and then the 1mm particles should be in the filter and not in the engine and the crankcase.
Suggestions are welcome!
