To confirm is yours euro 4 ? Else its non applicable.
Yes it should help smooth things out, however if your scv is not healthy it may still require replacing anyhow. Some even clean them out, but genuine Denso valves can be had for 60 bob. Watch out for fakes !
Its a good starting point running the learns however.
Clutch in can make them hunt. Fairly normal.
Other than that it would suggest fuel pressure may be a little out due to scv often.
Go on to the service functions on forscan, it will run you through the process, reset prv open duration, fuel pump learn followed by injector pilot learn. All simple to follow .
Tbh as long as the van starts and drives id be surprised if it caused any issues with it failing, they sometimes fail due to fuel temps, id recommend doing on a cold engine and bring it up as your doing it.
Cheers
How come you recommend to do it on a cold engine? Ive read other places that it should be preformed with a warm engine? Is there an advantage to doing it cold?
As mentioned previously, Because to a high fuel rail temps can cause the learns the fail, ie if it starts the process, but goes to high during the learns with the engine running… generally if not high enough it wont Commence until within range, same as coolant temps, problem is, if its to high to begin it can take longer to cool than heat up. Some put a hose over the rail to keep it cool. Thats my way anyway. Hope that explains better. Cheers
