Cheers is there anyone in Australia who does this that anybody knows, edu repairs not keen on posting to uk

Not that I'm aware of.....if you're handy with tools and delicate soldering, it's possible to do it yourself.

Am kinda handy but I don't know what I actually need to fix on the edu any info would be much appreciated. Being a plumber I can solder quite well but don't know much about intricate electronics.

now edu off have you checked resistance on solenoid wires.

Send it off, for 60 quid gives you peace of mind transistor is correct one and soldering done prob more proffessionally than what me or you could do it, they are ally wires and pads apparently so not easy to solder and yes very intricate.

Also the comms to the edc will be confirmed and think codes on edc get read to confirm the fault and cleared.

I am in Australia as well i have the dreaded codes 1664 etc etc saying mosfet in EDU i went on to youtube and there are lots of good videos that show you how to fix it, it looks intricate and delicate but not impossible the mosfet is readily available, and only about 5 quid dollars, from RS components type of places, I have gone a different route with repairing mine, i have just bought a good replacement EDU from the UK on its way now. I would like to know if its possible to just fit this replacement EDU ? will it then need coding or is it just a plug and play. Are they specific to each transit. Going to look on youtube as well.

If the EDC/EDU is replaced, it will need coding as the original would have been coded to the key/van. "Virginised" pumps can often be left with the iginition on for a while to match them but not sure about just a separate EDC/EDU..??
