I found the codes but they're partly unreadable. This one is the most readable but symbols on the rhs are wiped out.
Although I can't read the complete codes it is clear that the programmed codes are wrong.
1. Can wrong codes explain why I'm unable to complete the pump read?
2. What do I do with unreadable codes? Do I have to replace the injectors? No previous owner has written down the codes, that I'm sure of.

Yeah...it's the 16 digit number usually starting with "F".

Yes but as I said I'm unable to read them because they are partly erased.
So I have to replace all the injectors, right?

No.....the correction numbers already in the PCM will probably be what they are....unless the injectors have been replaced and not coded.

Have you done a leak-off test..??

The codes are wrong so yes it looks like the injectors have been replaced and not coded.

Is leak-off done with tubes and bottles connected at the top of the injectors and just running the engine idle? A picture of the setup would be very appreciated.

Euro-4 leak-off test is with bottles/lines connected to the return from the injectors..yes... The engine must be warmed up and the leak-off test is done for 4 mins @ idle. Limits are 25-40ml per injector.

If you get any silly numbers, you may have found your problem.

Do you have A/C..?? If not, that may be the "unused" connector for the A/C compressor.

Looks like your Transit is LHD..??

I don't live in a place where I ever have use for AC...
Anyway, I bought it in August and haven't been able to use it due to a long list of much bigger problems than AC.
I'll check next time I'm at the place where the van is now, thanks.

I finally found time to work on the car.
Got a used set of injectors for 600 EUR, spare parts included, and changed them.
Coded the new injectors in the cylinder order, following the Forscan instructions. My Forscan instructions only show one set of numbers. It's the cylinder numbers and like Lord Knobrot writes in another thread it starts from nr 1 on the timing belt / dynamo side of the engine, which seems to be on the RHS (of the car) regardless of the driving side. I actually programmed them with a Foxwell and checked afterwards that it's using the same numbering as Forscan.
Engine starts and feels much better than with the old injectors but I'm unable to pass the tests. Possible cause: cylinder balancing. Attaching live data on cylinder balancing. Are those supposed to be close to 1?
Also: how do you clean the copper washer seats? Not a single mention of that in the Haynes manual so I wasn't aware that should be done. I just cleaned with a rag.

Ideally injector values should be zero, looks like #2, #3 & #4 are way outside normal correction limits...the system can usually make corrections if they don't wander too far...up to +/-1.0.

Did you enter the new injector correction factors or just use the old ones..??

Second hand injectors are usually "false economy" as they rarely pass the learns, (as you've found), refurbished with new correction factors or new injectors are the way to go.

Thanks
I'm starting to understand...
I used the new injector correction factors. Whole reason I changed the injectors is that the factors for the old ones were wrong and unreadable (readable enough to figure out they were coded wrong).
How bad is it to use the car anyway? Again, engine is working better than before I changed the injectors.
Are you saying it's possible to get my old injectors refurbished, i.e. get correction factors for them?

Yes..! But sometimes it's cheaper and easier to buy new.
