Before anyone has a go at me .. this is all conjecture, the two pics you put up gave me the feeling that nothing was going to seal against that surface., still not even sure that you've been trying to ream washers left down there from previous injector washer change, done by someone in the past (perhaps fake washers of steel with brass plating) test with magnet on a stick .. available at pound shops

A close up picture of the cutting edges of the reaming tool would be nice.... because that's a terrible finish left by it .

Since i can't be stood at the side of you or see the thing or your reamer or your technique, That's all i can add .

Without having a go at anyone
From the picture above, it looks like you're using a 17mm parallel cutter?
Which is catching the outer edge of the seat face (marked in orange below).
The inner section (marked in red) looks untouched in your efforts but suspiciously like someone has had a go in the past with a stepped cutter which has a 17mm body and 15mm cutting face leaving what looks like chatter marks on the face.

But... this "step" in the face can also be caused by injector bounce if it becomes loose and will hammer the sealing face every time the piston draws down.

The discoloration will likely just be surface transfer from the washer

If the injector has been hammering the bottom of the seat area will be work hardened which will be harder to cut till you've got under its surface.

Apologies for the picture quality crapatalk only allows a low resolution picture to be uploaded by us freeloading cheapskates that don't pay their subscription. Image

Thanks lads,
I hadn't spotted the replies.

I think you could be right re the narrower reamer at work before.

3 and 4 ended up being wet on top so re did those and everything bone dry since, thankfully.
But I've other issues per posts today and yesterday so getting fairly fed up of it now!
