has anyone got the data for the mk7 boxes with the ratios for each gear so we can be 100% sure if 6th is the same as 5th or not :?:

yeah that would be better,
as you get 4 different ratio diffs on 6 speed so one would equall same engine speed as a 5 speed with appropriate diff :!:

I can only get the ratios for FWD 5 and 6 speed boxes

5 speed VXT-75

First gear 3.80
Second gear 2.136
Third gear 1.345
Fourth gear 0.921
Fifth gear 0.674
Reverse gear 3.727

The 6 speed VMT6 is a bit more confusing though :!:

Nope I couldnt work out the copy and paste for that lot, so you'll have to make do with a picture :)

thank you :D

and ............. yeah thats nice and complecated

i suppose and advantage would be the wear is spread over more gears - so the final drive gears in 5th and 6th wont get any use in the other gears

Six gear on my 135 is 28 mph/ik rpm. 70mph on the gps is 2450rpm.
Had a 115 5speed and 70mph was 2900 rpm.

My 53 Mk6 RWD 330 does 2700 at 60mph, and I think nearly 3200 at 70mph. It has a 5.13 to 1 diff and new tyres. 75mph would be about 3400 I suppose, but I dont do that very often as it just wastes fuel and really doesn't get you there any quicker :( . Sounds roughly about the same revs as yours, so I'd guess you've got the same diff.
I thought it was a bit revvy at first, and wanted to see if I could change this, but it tows beautifully so now I'm going to leave as is.

According to etis VXT-75 the oil spec should be WSD-M2C200-C and a VMT-6 should be WSS-M2C200-D, so I would say yes :!:

I got an engine out of a 140ps FWD at the minute and the gear oil smells like rear axle oil to me, but thats a different spec again so I dont think its the same stuff :)
