Transit mk 6 front brake sticking on.
My Transit front brake started to bind, I looked at the caliper first and because it was rusted and the rubbers perished I changed it at a cost of £85 plus brake fluid. After a couple of days it started to bind again and I lost front wheel bearing grease, melted with the heat, then I changed the flexible brake pipe £15. Now it is fine with no binding and the trouble....where the flexible brake pipe is bracketed to the suspention strut a metal bracket goes around the brake pipe, this had rusted, the rust expanded and squashed the flexible hose so hardly any internal bore was left, so when you brake it pressurises the pipe and when you release the brake the flexible pipe collapses internally keeping the pressure on, until suficiant movement of the flexible hose releases the pressure until you brake again. In hindsight an easy fix would be to cut through the bracket holding the flexible hose, to release the pressure until you got another new pipe, obviously taking care not to cut through the pipe, and keeping it out of the way of any moving parts.
