As explained previously to the owner, we will send a cheque, and like ANY company it isnt as easy as writing a cheque and popping it into the post.
A refund mandate must LEGALY be drawn up in order for us to get the VAT back as well as offset the money we would have otherwise taken into the business as a sale due to the fact the owner did not have the reciept any longer.
I assure you, most companies would not offer a refund without the reciept, i have done all i can as all of you know and the bringing back up of this topic is yet a further example of people trying to make more problems.
Accounts at our firm are open every tuesday, a cheque will be drawn then and sent promptly.

I was well into a massive reply then when i thought again and deleted it all.

What i will say is that at Chipped UK Ltd we only act by the letter of the law when it comes to refunds, tax payments, credits and accounts and for these reasons what i have stated will stand.

drama, pressure,& administrative delays..

Postby martynx » Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:17 am

Great to hear a refund is forthcoming Becky - should be the end of the drama..

"Please wait up to 200 miles till the pump is up to pressure " , be great to have that one explained here Jason, just to tidy things up ? ..

I will say it on an open forum just so there are no lies told behind the scene.

It is a FACT that diesels (well almost all cars) adapt after a remap, where pressure of fuel mixed with adaptions within the structure adapt over time.

No big thing here just simple fact.

Now, this isnt a ploy, we offer a full refund if anyone isnt happy so using the theory that this is meant to get people away is absurd, and we have at all times explained this to the customer.

adaptation

Postby martynx » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:45 am

I have read about the automatic adaptation in ECU's - dont understand it fully yet as you appear to be able to tweak bits of it yourself in certain dealer level softwares ( like VAGCOM ) but if thats what your man was referring to then..................... fair enough. A real pity it didnt happen though..

forum thread

Postby chipped UK Ltd » Tue Sep 11, 2007 10:06 am

Hi there,
This van did work, without any doubt it was quicker after the map, the owner simply expected more than was possible.
I would dearly love someone on the forum to ask him to go for an indipendant dyno test.
That way there would be solid proof that either i am lying or he is.

I cant ask for it for obvious reasons :)

How can you say it worked? Did you drive it after 200 miles? Also no point sending it on a dyno test as it never had one before you "remapped" it!

Nice how a PM end up as a post by me on the forum :)

Anyway, now its in the open, yes, i do believe without any doubt that the map is on this ecu having checked myself, i do feel the van is quicker and i do feel the owner expected too much coupled with the fact vat was charged at the point of sale.

Having said that, im still giving a full refund.

Thats doesnt defer from the fact that i personally would be happy for this van to be tested on an indipendant dyno, id even pay for it just to settle this matter once and for all.

Well, i sent that as a pm to a forum member hence the reason i posted the lines:

"I would dearly love someone on the forum to ask him to go for an indipendant dyno test."

and

"I cant ask for it for obvious reasons"

Next thing i see is that it appears on the forum as if written by me.
