It's the best quality 1 that we gamble on.

It really is a minefield mate :(

I've had mine for years and the wifi broke and I keep going through usb cables lol, but the old girl kicks over. Be obsolete soon though unless they invent something worthwhile doing on euro 5/6 etc.

Hence me suggesting that you Swerve it. Your van will get the latest update post 2011 but I really don't think they're bothered making more on an out dated van.

Incidentally what year is yours?

Ah ok 8)

Unfortunately I can't suggest anywhere as there really are many different companies cloning them.

I've always said, fire a company a message and I'd they respond then that's a bonus, also be careful with postage and use PayPal or similar in case of a claim. Make a note of order numbers and other info.

You do usually pay more from ebay sellers but they are more accountable. They are few though.

Anyone had any dealings with this company / product.
Seems to tick all my boxes for my 2008 transit.

Bit confused by the CFR cable for live data. It sounds like this is needed in order to do fuel pump and injector learns..

Thanks.

Better starting a new thread if it's a van question rather than a question or issue your having with your diagnostics.
Have a search through the forum also as your issue may of been experienced before.

The cfr cable is used when trying to diagnose driving faults.
It removes the need to drive around with a laptop connected to the obd port.
You preprogram what data to record and over what timescale, then when the fault occcurs while driving you push a button on the cfr and the data is captured.
Alternately you drive around with an assistant to do the computer bit.

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

If you go to datalogger and try and find the right place. You might see a sub section for ipc or other items that look like it. Ids has so many sub locations we're still learning and forgetting

Failing that you can get a multimeter and ping the 2 orange wires at the squib using ohms.

You won't know what values to expect in any case but I guess as long as you don't see an open circuit.

What's the plan?

Cheers Loot!

Long story short I’ve picked up a euro 5 2.2 mk7. Orange wires are present, have fitted c max wheel. I had a b series bcm, bought a c series (programmed) from Martyn. But still no cruise. Martyn has been great talking me through bits and bobs. I upgraded my ids to v115.05 the other day (massive headache). So just trying to eliminate things. Clutch switch is working correctly (it’s reporting clutch up, partially depressed and fully depressed). So just trying to figure out these buttons. It’s turning into a headache lol!

Martyn will have more experience with euro 5mk7 and adding cruise.

Usually you turn it on and that's it. But cruise won't work if there are any brake/abs system problems or warning lights for certain engine faults.

If you turn the ignition on and you see the green cruise lamp come on and off then as far as I'm concerned it is activated.

That said it may as you know be deciding that it isn't meeting the safety requirements to work.

Can you remind me what fault codes you are getting?

Also a faulty cruise button will bring a fault code up.

Check your rear light clusters for faults you may be getting a back feed via brake lights which will stop it from activating.
Is your handbrake going off properly?

Thanks folks. Cruise button lights up , 1 dtc code for glow plug cylinder 3. I’m gonna take it for another run as I stripped the buttons down tonight to check at there all
Giving readings. Rear lights are brand new mk8 tipper lights. I’ve plugged ids in again and it’s still saying “cruise control” in the correct box. Even the IC has the correct backup. I’m completely at a loss lol! Martyn has been great and talked me through things the other day. I may have to be cheeky and pop in and see him. No warnings regarding cruise at all . It’s a mystery!!

Update***

The live data for the clutch switch shows clutch closed/partially depressed/ fully depressed but a like reading of 3.5%?? Also the stop start isn’t working (both battery genuine ford and tested good) and the shift light isn’t operative either??? Even though it is activated. The van goes like stink so I think it’s been remapped. Could this be an issue???

Further update. Swapped the main clutch switch for a known working one off my mk7 jumbo, no better. Pulled the second switch and checked it. Continuity when it’s pressed. Checked the tang and bent it up slightly. Nothing :( getting confused now :(

Just disconnect the rear lights or recheck them, especially the earth points, I know you say they are new but that doesn't mean there may not be a fault in that system or with the wiring.
I know erroneous signals coming back can cause other systems to do funny things and bring other lights on in the dash but the BCM will be pick up millivolts and that could be enough to stop cruise but not show other tell tails.

Ps. Is it worth moving this fault discussion to it's own thread as it's more about the cruise fault than IDS issues? It's good information and be a shame for it to get lost in this thread.
