You should be able to get it working3 without the vcm connected, it must be a software problem surely?

Is there any change it is cable fault? Or where the program checks the voltage when reprogramming? Voltages are ok in dlc, and when i do the alternator test, there are readings normal too.

Have same issue here..I checked my cable and it's good, also popped the back off the VCM to see if there's something amiss, but nowt wrong, pin-out has continuity etc...I might just re-install everything and try again..

Strange really coz the live data shows all is good and 14.xx volts when engine is running etc...

I'm trying to think what resolved it but i know I've got a few vcm and the last 1 i had to go from Wi-Fi to cable because the Wi-Fi circuit in the vcm pood itself.
I just hope it isn't an internal vcm fault.
Although it has never happened on a new vcm from the off, and usually you get multiple disconnects before permanent failure.
So i am 99% it isn't the problem i had.

I even havent try to connect with WiFi, because its allmost easyer to use Cable.

Mine had a faulty USB cable, its worth a try, and its working on an Asus notebook W7

No Wi-Fi unfortunately ....might give "wexican's" idea a go, never thought about the usb cable being duff.
