Got a shiny new MOT on the '04 plate after its failure yesterday - on four trivial items - brake pedal rubber incomplete, suspected fuel tank leak, both headlights misaligned and excessive smoke...

£4.30 to Ford for a pedal rubber, £1 for a tin of brake cleaner to clean up outside the fuel tank after it got overfilled last week, a tin of Forte and a damn good thrashing bought the smoke from 5.4 to 1.02 and the MOT station aligned the headlights for nowt!

Further comments from the tester where "clutch is crap" - yes I know - and "stinks of grass" - ah yes that'll be the four full builders bags of grass cuttings in the back then.....

So, it now readied for another year of hauling around lawnmowers, hedgetrimmers, strimmers, grass cuttings and garden waste and quite often a ten foot plant trailer......

Till the next thing goes wrong! :P

New set of front pads, got a very slight graunch 10 days ago, inner on drivers side was down to 2 fag papers, other 3 were all pretty similar.
3rd n/side drop link in as many months. The outer is plastic/bakelite seems crazy a plastic suspension component !!!!!!! especially a compressive part, the one (pieces) than came off looked like a pair of jagged collars for the inner bolt ! I'm not a tear-arse, neither has she been overloaded.
I got a little black book with me poems in

That information is on a need to know basis

Do you have to have a single passenger seat aswell for the near side pocket to get the door to shut :?:

hi
I have only ever had a single passenger seat so don't know if its necessary. I ordered a LHD drivers door trim and a LHD passengers door lower pocket, from my local friendly (now gone) Ford dealer, but that was long ago in a Galaxy far far away..
(I looked at a Transit in Holland and saw they came same as ours, upper trim on drivers door, lower pocket on pax door, hence my order) The correct side pockets need a little mod for the front fixing, so it uses the same screw as the upper panel, or you can just do same as BJT.

The drop links? They are supposed to be tightened lightly.

We guessed as much, as the 'apprentice' confessed he installed the last one with the air tool.
Snapped the moment the van was moved I shouldn't wonder !
I still say it's crazy a plastic suspension component.

Fitted some headlamp protectors to stick some beam deflectors on as I'm off to Denmark for 3 weeks,

Image
Image

fitted some speakers in the back so as the rear passenger has some toons,

Image

then loaded up with all the kit to do the work out there,
Image

gave the caravan a quick wash, all ready to head for Harwich then overnight to Esjberg.

Image

I stuck it on a weighbridge last week & with a full tank of fuel I was less than 100kg under max GVW, & 500kg under GTW with the caravan hooked up aswell so at least I know I'm all legal! I've chucked all the uneccessary stuff out of the caravan, like the awning & sunloungers etc to save a bit of towing weight & leave a bit of room for a few cases of beer as that is damn expensive over there.
